Without a Map by Meredith Hall

"I carry my own story each day. It is my intimate shadow: when I was very young, when I was in very big trouble, I was abandoned by my mother and then my father. The harm done has become a bony structure surrounding my life, and I carry this weight."

This is an interesting memoir and I heard bits and pieces on Chapter a Day on NPR.

It was a very powerful story of how things you do very young can change your life forever. And what kind of parents you have and how they parent you also affects your life. Once again it showed me how much easier my life has been because I was parented so well by truly good people.

I would recommend this book.
